    WHAT MAKES VOA SPECIAL?VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely, and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veteran’s efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes, it combines relationship-building, volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbor’s efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.

     

    **Plan, implement, and evaluate the Camp POSTCARD Program to ensure that the program meets the needs and

     

    interests of the camp’s target populations and ensures a safe and quality program. Recruits, enrolls, plans and

     

    oversees the daily operation of the camps including camper, staff and volunteer supervision. Prepares and

     

    maintains documentation in compliance with agency, licensing, and funding sources. Plan, implement, and

     

    evaluate organizations Adopt A Family holiday program. Assist in coordinating logistics, operations, billing and

     

    reporting requirements for the Early Childhood Education programs. Works closely with volunteers and community

     

    organizations to increase community involvement, relationship building and fundraising efforts.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensures that the participant’s voice is heard, and their ideas play a prominent role in programming.

    • Directly responsible for the design and delivery of Camp POSTCARD including recruitment, enrollment,

     

    camp activities, volunteer management, funding, outcomes, and camper safety.

     

    • Develop comprehensive training program for all camp counselors and camp volunteers.

    • In conjunction with VOAC Advancement Division and supervisor, develop and implement fundraising

     

    strategies for Camp POSTCARD and Adopt A Family.

     

    • Completes the business management functions of the Camp POSTCARD, Adopt A Family and Children’s

     

    Programs including recordkeeping, supplies, scheduling, interviews, and payments.

     

    • Plan and organize Camp POSTCARD reunions.

    • Directly responsible for the design and delivery of the VOAC –wide Adopt a Family Program ensuring that

     

    families, programs, and participants obtain adoption through donor recruitment and matching.

     

    • Serve as the central contact for agency-wide, Adopt-A-Family holiday program. Effectively communicates

     

    with assigned designee from each VOAC program to remain apprised of donation needs.

     

    • Coordinate a confidential “adoption” program, matching companies, organizations and individual donors

    with participants during the holiday season, ensuring all participants are adopted

    • Coordinate gift recipient pick-up and management prior to the holiday in conjunction with referring VOAC

     

    program staff.

     

    • Compile final seasonal reports for Camp POSTCARD for Adopt-a-Family and report-out in wrap up meeting

     

    with managers, division directors and others.

     

    • Assists the Early Childhood Education Program with logistics, operations, billing and reporting

     

    requirements.

     

    • Train staff to input data into the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) System and pull reports from

     

    Child Plus and Service Point.

     

    • Assist in obtaining monthly attendance data to prepare billings for all ECEC assistance payments.

    • Compile and review data for adherence to programmatic ECE standards and reporting requirements

    • Submit accurate monthly reports and assist in compiling information, materials and statistics.

    • Attends orientations, trainings, education programs, staff meetings, community meetings, conferences and workshops as requested and applicable to meet the needs of the position. May provide training and mentorship to team members and community stakeholders regarding best practices in relevant service models and practices.

    • May need to work in the classroom due to teacher absences.

    • Performs duties in a professional manner by maintaining the confidentiality of all information and by participating effectively within and across teams.

    • Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the NAECY (National Association for the Education of Young Children), Head Start - Performance Standards and the Social Work Code of Ethics.

     

    - Prioritizes the safety, health and welfare of children at all times.

     

    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must be adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced work environment. Must be able to work both in an office setting and in an outdoor, mountainous, high elevation terrain. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Also, must be able to bend, kneel, stand and walk.

     

    POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKFull time; 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends. Must reside at camp during camp sessions and be on call 24/7 during camp sessions.

    Requirements

    COMPETENCIES

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

    • Bachelor's degree in education, Human Services or related area or equivalent relevant experience.

    • Management and/or supervisory experience required.

    • Experience with successful development and implementation of large projects required.

    • Experience with youth and youth programming.

    • Complete program credentialing process, to include criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire.

    • Willing to obtain first aid, automated external defibrillator and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications.

    • Colorado driver’s license and state-mandated automobile insurance.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

    • Camp oversight experience preferred.

    • Bilingual in English/Spanish

    Salary Description

    $56,486.00-$64168.00 annual
