    _POSITION DESCRIPTION:_

    _The individual will perform any work in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the underground and aerial cable systems\._

     

    _The salary range for this position starts at $36\.08 \(as of 10/01/2024\)\. Rates will increase on October 1st, 2025 and progresses in accordance with the union contract\. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits\._

    _POSITION REQUIREMENTS:_

    _A high school diploma or the equivalent is required; the ability to successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test \(CAST\) and the Agility Assessment;_** **_Splicing experience is preferred_** **_\. The selected candidate must possess a valid motor vehicle license and be qualified to obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver's License \(CDL\), and must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location for trouble call assignments\. This position will be considered a shift position and the employee may be required to work a four, ten\-hour day schedule\._

    _RETENTION:_

    Retention Incumbent qualified employees who elect to accept a position within the Splicer Helper classification will be retained in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement\. \(Three years total in Underground\)
