**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Senior** **Systems Engineer** to join our team in **Patuxent River, MD.** This is an **onsite** position.
This position supports NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering Department (SED). SED is a key part of NAVAIR’s efforts to acquire and sustain naval aviation capabilities and plays a crucial role in the development, testing, and support of naval aircraft and weapons systems. Specifically, this position provides support efforts to include avionics focus on stores, aeromechanical work with flight testing and data, and requirements tracing and documentation providing support to varying FMS projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Coordinating and conducting projects as assigned by the Platform/Stores Integration competency manager and in support of the Program Manager and IPT leaders in the development of systems
+ Developing requirements and store integration plans to ensure total weapon system performance
+ Managing and executing the airworthiness process for all store integration activities
+ Coordinating data requirements with airworthiness subject matter experts and ensures they meet established NAVAIR airworthiness requirements
+ Reviewing flight clearances for technical accuracy and safety of flight
+ Planning, organizing, and leading weapons and store integration activities to include conducting engineering analyses, test and evaluation of weapon systems, related subsystems, and components
+ Reviewing and preparing various project documentation such as test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs), contractor design approaches, and results of contractor development testing to understand the background and identify possible integration problem areas
+ Preparing project correspondence such as test plans, technical reports, letters, and memorandums
+ Serving as Navy, IPT, and store integration department representative during participation at conferences, design reviews, program meetings, mockup reviews, seminars and symposia
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university
+ 10+ years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position; at least 3+ years must be directly related to DoD systems
+ Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required
+ Must have weapons and store integration experience
+ Must have excellent problem solving, communication, and briefing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with airworthiness and NAVAIR airworthiness requirements, flight clearances, and safety of flight is highly desired
+ Experience with H-60 aircraft and rotary wing flight operations is highly desired
Clearance Requirements:
+ Must have an active Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
+ Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC as well as operate other typical office equipment (e.g. copying machine, shredder, projection systems, etc.).
+ Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, Customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
