**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Senior** **Systems Engineer** to join our team in **Patuxent River, MD.** This is an **onsite** position.
This position supports NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering Department (SED). SED is a key part of NAVAIR’s efforts to acquire and sustain naval aviation capabilities and plays a crucial role in the development, testing, and support of naval aircraft and weapons systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems
+ Reviewing and preparing engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
+ Applying systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems and performing functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management
+ Analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and evaluating software, components, or systems related to the engineering and functional requirements of military weapons and associated support systems
+ Performing programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
+ Guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and 10+ years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position; 3+ years of the 10 years must be directly related to DoD systems. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and 14+ years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Master’s degree.
+ Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required
+ Experience in applying systems engineering methods and tools to the development of complex systems. Proven ability in system integration, configuration management, and quality assurance testing
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with NAVAIR acquisition processes
+ Experience with Navy and/or Joint weapons programs
+ Experience with military weapon/support systems software/component/system analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation
Clearance Requirements:
+ Must have an active Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
+ Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC as well as operate other typical office equipment (e.g. copying machine, shredder, projection systems, etc.).
+ Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, Customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
