The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative **Industrial Engineer / Principal Industrial Engineer** at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of **Baltimore, Maryland (work on site) -** where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.
Northrop Grumman’s ATL microelectronics facility is a unique high-mix production environment supporting semiconductor devices, RF/microwave assemblies, and advanced microelectronics packaging. Our engineering and operations teams provide cutting-edge process development and manufacturing excellence in support of programs across avionics, space and defense systems.
What You'll Get To Do:
This position involves supporting ATL's production technology lines and requires a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include enhancing production efficiency and developing new metrics for the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Optimize and analyze manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity in a high-mix microelectronics fabrication environment.
+ Utilize Tableau for data visualization and reporting to support decision-making processes.
+ Manage and analyze databases to drive insights and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Oversee Work In-Progress (WIP) planning, line balancing, and capacity modeling to ensure optimal production flow.
+ Collaborate and lead cross-functional teams to identify and address process bottlenecks and implement best practices.
+ Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational performance.

Basic Qualifications for Industrial Systems Engineer:
+ Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or any related STEM degree with 2+ years relevant industry experience or Masters with a minimum of 0 years relevant industry experience or PhD with 0 years’ experience.
+ Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
+ Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen).
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
+ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly.
+ Willingness to be hands-on and engage directly with floor operations, addressing real-time challenges.
+ US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Systems Engineer:
+ Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or any related STEM degree with 5 years relevant industry experience or Masters with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience or PhD with 0 years’ experience.
+ Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
+ Strong understanding of microelectronics manufacturing techniques and processes.
+ Experience in WIP planning, line balancing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
+ US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in WIP planning to execute program demands and meet financial commits.
+ Experience with C/C++, Python, APF Formatter reports and database management.
+ Experience with machine learning and its applications in manufacturing processes.
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
+ Familiarity with advanced microelectronics fabrication technologies.
+ Experience with static and dynamic capacity modeling using modeling and simulation software.
+ Supply chain experience.
+ Active TS/SCI clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
