* AgVantage FS* is headquartered in Waverly, Iowa with branches in Northern and Eastern Iowa. AgVantage FS has about 400 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 23,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, energy, precision agronomy, and agri-finance. AgVantage FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada. *_PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT_* Collaborates with Crop Specialists and Data Management Specialists to promote and sell the Data Value System to crop producers, including Advanced Field Analysis. Responsible for managing assigned soil and grid sampling acres by ensuring they get completed on time. Supports High Resolution Satellite Imagery and participates in crop monitoring. Supports growing market share by utilizing technology best practices that ensure a positive return for customers. * _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION_* Develops target lists to make sales calls that increase Data Value System acres, in collaboration with Crop Specialists and Data Management Specialists. Gathers soil or grid sampling service order requests from the Data Management Specialists. Drives company vehicle to designated customer crop field locations and transports four-wheeler to use for grid sampling. Utilizes GPS technology and field maps to manually collect soil or grid samples using a soil probe. Documents location information and sample identifications to maintain accuracy. Returns samples to designated company location or person processing. Discusses and records any observation or issues with Data Management Specialists to add value to the service. Participates in crop monitoring fields as a follow-up to satellite imagery generated for customers enrolled in Advanced Field Analysis. Attends and participates in scheduled sales and technical training sessions and meetings. Assists with additional agricultural retail operational duties as time allows or as needed. * * * _OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_* Maintain knowledge of current and new technology related to the Data Value System. Attends all meetings, trainings and seminars as assigned. Assist Data Value System team with special projects. Performs all other duties as assigned. * * * _REQUIREMENTS_* Normally requires an associate degree in an agriculture, GIS/GPS, or the equivalent thereof, and 1-2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of precision technology. Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant Occasionally exposed to: * Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) * Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures * May be required to work at varying heights * Lift 21-50 lbs. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
