Job Summary
Battelle is seeking an **Internal Auditor** to perform audits under the guidance of the Internal Audit Director or Chief Audit Executive. Audit areas may include reviews of effectiveness and efficiency of operations; compliance with policies and regulations; safeguarding of assets; and identification of any irregularities, fraud, and other acts that pose significant risks to Battelle.
This position will report to Battelle’s Internal Audit Director and will be responsible for partnering with internal business clients, management, and members of the Internal Audit team to effectively provide exemplary, proactive, and timely audit services. To succeed in this fast-paced environment requires strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, commitment to innovation and continuous process improvement, and ownership of results.
This position is based at Battelle’s world headquarters in **Columbus, Ohio** ; however, work is performed on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
+ Conducts or participates in financial and operational audits of Battelle Corporate Operations and Battelle subsidiaries.
+ Conducts or participates in the testing of internal key controls and prepares or assists in the preparation of the draft report on such reviews.
+ Conducts or participates in efficiency reviews of major systems, processes and procedures.
+ Conducts or participates in the performance of compliance and consistency reviews of internal policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws and government regulations.
+ Prepares or assists in the preparation of draft reports on the results of audits which include recommended corrective actions, as needed, to appropriate managers.
+ Conducts internal audit engagements in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Global Internal Audit Standards.
+ Assists external auditors in support of their audits.
+ Performs consultative services for management in conjunction with their major business processes or system implementation initiatives at the direction of Internal Audit leadership.
+ Research accounting, regulatory or management issues as needed.
+ Conducts or participates in special reviews and projects as requested by management and/or the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
+ Learns and understands the Battelle investigation process and assists Internal Audit SMEs in the conduct of investigations.
+ Assists Internal Audit leadership in performing various duties relating to all Battelle Operations.
Key Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; two years of accounting or finance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
+ Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
Preferred Qualifications
+ CPA, CIT, or a master's degree. Public, industrial or government audit experience.
