Scope of Position
This highly motivated individual, as part of the E-Coat department, will be responsible for operating and monitoring the e-coat system to apply one of a variety of colors to a rack of parts via programmable hoist equipment. Assists in hanging parts on racks, loading the racks in the e-coat system and training employees in area. Works with technicians, group leaders, and engineers to ensure proper operating parameters are maintained. Identify, assist and/or lead implementation of areas for improvement. Request and assist maintenance as needed.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. This role is onsite and is based in Germantown, WI.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Transport bath samples, coatings, and chemicals using provided equipment, carts, and methods.
+ Unload parts from racks to assembly line, packaging line, or pallets.
+ Provide feedback of rejects and for future rack design improvements.
+ Responsible for all phases of part preparation including: verifying incoming cleanliness; product free from protective vinyl; rack loading without marring or scratching parts; proper color selection.
+ Monitor cleanliness of incoming parts and prepare parts for coating.
+ Meet or exceed quality specifications and on-time performance.
+ Maintain cleanliness within the department.
+ Monitor and log data of tank levels, pressure gauges, thermometers, flow meters, filter changes.
+ Measure and make bath additions, bath changes, and tank cleaning.
+ Observe, document, and communicate operating parameter concerns.
+ Inspect equipment for alignment and wear.
+ Change bag filters, mix concentrated coatings, make paint additions, titrate cleaner solution, and add cleaner as required.
+ Perform PH and Conductivity testing and meter calibration
+ Monitor part quality and make recommendations for tank cleaning and/or system adjustments and repairs.
+ Recommend process improvements.
+ Monitor consumables inventory and replenishment.
+ Perform coating tests, results, and understand corrective action when necessary.
+ Knowledge of the mechanics of the equipment.
+ Must work independently without supervision
+ Rely on previous experience to make decisions
+ Train new employees in area and assign work to other employees
+ An understanding of when to wear protective face shields, steel toe rubber boots, rubber gloves, and additional PPE, per safety and health guidelines.
+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on e-coat equipment, including pumps, tanks, filters, and control systems.
+ Diagnose and resolve issues related to the e-coat process, such as coating defects, equipment malfunctions, and system inefficiencies.
+ Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Supervisors to focus on achieving daily PQVC goals
+ Assist Quality in generating and processing of First Article Inspection Reports as needed
+ Generate and revise operational method sheets for production
+ Assist in processing Engineering Change Notices, Programming changes, routings, OMS sheets, Standard Work etc.
+ Participate in safety initiatives, such as Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Safety Audits.
+ Participate in kaizen/Kata to drive system and process improvement
+ Proficiently apply practical, team-based problem-solving methodology
+ Create and utilize Standard Work as a basis for structured and organized daily routines
+ Facilitate the adoption of continuous improvement as a way of life; foster positive culture change
+ Support cooperation, teamwork, and positive working relationships across all functional areas
+ Document, identify and eliminate waste in manufacturing processes
+ Conduct Gap Analysis and accurately communicate benefits of proposed or completed projects.
+ Continuously develop skills and abilities in line with organizational goals
+ Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards.
+ Participates in department meetings effectively
+ Adheres to safety and quality standards.
+ Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor or Company management.
+ Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)
Required Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
+ Understanding of basic math including ability to perform volume measurements.
+ Strong communication skills required.
+ At least 5 years of manufacturing experience
+ Ability to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge of techniques and procedures.
+ Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
+ Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous E- coat experience
+ Technical certification or associate degree in related field

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at Bradley’s location in Germantown, WI. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Must be able to detect abnormal sounds with machinery
+ Ability to work with chemicals and materials in accordance with safety guidelines

+ Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
+ Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
+ Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
