    Starting Salary: $1,780.37 Bi-Weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, the salary is based upon candidates current pay grade and the pay grade of the advertised position. If the appointment is an internal promotion the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

    Coordinate activities with local stakeholders related to Circuit specific initiatives. In coordination with the Chief Probation Officer strategically evaluate and promote effective approaches to juvenile justice to reduce juvenile delinquency.

     

    Facilitate the development of a work plan and maintain accountability of tasks and timelines set forth in the work plan. Serves as the circuit liaison for implementing the department’s RoadMap strategies.

     

    Meet with various parties and key stakeholders on an individual or small group basis. Review and request relevant data and data analysis from an approved departmental source. Review and analyze data and consult with Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Bureau of Research/Planning and circuit management on collection and management of data.

     

    Strategically and consistently use or collect valid data to assist with various projects, to include reviewing relevant data and analyses from an approved departmental source, in consultation with DJJ Bureau of Research and Planning and the circuit management team. Ad hoc reports may be requested, as needed.

     

    Prepare and review various written documents, procedures, and agreements; formal position statements, action plans, and other assignments as needed.

     

    Represent DJJ as a designee for the Chief Probation Officer at meetings with other local groups and boards.

     

    Coordinates the activities of staff associated with special projects and initiatives within the circuit.

     

    Conduct departmental in-service trainings and/or presentations to internal/external parties, as required.

     

    Duties related to Interstate Compact.

     

    Assist with quality improvement reviews.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to make independent decisions based on individual analysis, have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct and document interviews.

     

    Knowledge of the concept of civil citation and prevention interventions.

     

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

     

    Strong organizational/time-management skills.

     

    Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

     

    Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.

     

    Ability to read data, interpret trends, identify problems, develop solutions, and design analyses.

     

    Ability to travel.

     

    Ability to analyze the effectiveness of service programs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Candidate must have a High School Diploma or it's equivalent (GED).

     

    Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.

     

    This position requires non-traditional hours, including weekend and evening hours when needed.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

    A minimum of two (2) years working with delinquent youth.

     

    Experience with conducting trainings and or presentations.

Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
