HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible, under limited supervision, for applying manufacturing engineering and project management skills to plan, coordinate, and implement cost effective manufacturing processes that integrate equipment and personnel for AG & Turf product families.
THE DETAILS:
Coordinate PDP Development Phase
+ Coordinate the PDP Development phase for new products assignments
+ Supports manufacturing information systems including flattened BOM’s, routers, raw materials, and accurate product costs for assigned products
+ Create routers and BOM’s in SAP. Reviews time studies and material usage and maintains SAP so costs are accurate
Develop and implement production lines
+ Develop and implement product specific or mix model production lines for continuous flow manufacturing
+ Construct work cells using new or existing machinery to minimize the 8 wastes of Lean. Capable of selecting, quoting, justification, and contractually procuring equipment as necessary through installation
Support existing production lines
+ Support the sustainment of existing production lines as it relates to: ECO’s, product quality, fluctuations in production demands, process improvements, and responsiveness to ergonomic and safety related issues
Communication and Documentation:
+ Develop “Standard Work” documents for training and shop floor work instructions requirements
+ Construct production matrices that outline labor resources for finite capacity
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
+ Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience
+ 1 – 3 years of experience minimum in a manufacturing engineering environment. Experience in machining, fabrication, welding powder paint, and assembly operations
+ 1 – 3 years of experience entering and maintaining routers and BOM’s in SAP or other business operating system
+ Capable of analyzing and improving equipment, tooling, fixtures, material handling, work cells, material flow, and methods
+ Detail oriented in cost estimating methodologies including time study validation through the final product costing process
+ Knowledge of Continuous Flow Manufacturing (CFM) and a sound understanding of Lean principles, pull systems, and continuous improvement
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office software and an understanding of business operating systems (HFA, SAP)
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
+ Ability to work with IT and troubleshoot problems concerning inaccurate costs on SAP or other business operating system
At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $98,000 to $110,000 . Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
