Job Responsibilities:
+ Recruit, hire, train, and supervise an adjunct instructor staff of 75- 120 to teach/facilitate more than 120 sections of RIT 365. Provide ongoing coordination, communication, and support for a large instructor team serving all first-year RIT students. Further develop and implement the RIT 365 dialogue facilitation model, supporting the detailed logistical recruitment, hiring, and training processes required for facilitation of RIT 365 in close collaboration with the Assistant Director for Peer Support.
+ Outreach and collaboration across department, division, and university to develop and implement RIT 365 and support staff, department, division, and university in developing communities of practice.
+ Support Director in work with collaborative relationship building across campus. Support and model a culture of continuous improvement, including feedback and experimentation, with the use of assessment. Support the detailed logistical and enrollment processes required for an engagement-focused course of 3,000 students.
+ Facilitation of up to two sections of RIT 365:
+ Individual coaching/mentoring appointments Grading and assessment
+ Acts as the liaison to the Student Affairs Assessment Manager.
+ Responds to requests and communications from the Student Affairs Assessment Manager.
+ Engages in training related to assessment efforts.
+ Communicates essential assessment related information to unit director and other staff members.
+ Coordinates and manages assessment planning for the unit.
+ Is knowledgeable about, tracks, and prioritizes the assessment projects conducted in the department.
+ Manages and reports out on the data collected within the unit for university and division level processes (strategic plan, assessment projects, KPI, university progress reports etc.).
+ May take the lead on assessment projects for the unit Acts as the department workspace manager for the assessment management system.
+ Submits assessment plans and documents.
+ Updates progress on assessment plans and the unit strategic plan.
+ Manages the workflow of assessment tasks. Communicates related information to necessary individuals in the unit.
+ Service to community: support initiatives within department, division, and university (professional development, committees, and other duties as assigned).
+ Professional development.
+ Occasional evening and weekend hours.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
+ Master’s degree in education, higher education, counseling, or related field Certification, professional license, or credential.
+ A minimum of 5-7 years of full-time, professional experience with increasing responsibility in educational programming or student services.
+ Experience managing, supporting, and being a member of a large team (adjunct instructors, student leaders); shows respect, compassion and empathy for others, even in difficult situations and builds an environment of trust.
Skills:
+ Establishes rapport; builds and maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external audiences.
+ Respects others and their differences. Strong communication (verbal & written), and presentation (teaching and coaching) skills. Ability to listen, analyze, and problem solve.

+ Experience in planning and records management, including the handling of confidential records. General knowledge of assessment practices and experience utilizing assessment data to inform practice. Knowledge of existing, and comfort in learning new, university-supported technologies and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Outlook, note-keeping applications, and ability to navigate the student database).
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Deaf culture
Experience in budgeting. Experience facilitating dialogue and knowledge of dialogue models.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Director for Facilitation is a full-time, twelve-month position that provides leadership and direction for instruction of the RIT 365 program, within the department of Year One Programs. The Assistant Director for Facilitation is responsible for the recruitment, training, and support for 75-120 adjunct instructors in support of 120+ sections of RIT 365. Responsibilities include supporting assessment, curriculum development, and enrollment management for Year One Programs courses. The Assistant Director for Facilitation will support the Director for Year One Programs in developing a community of practice centered on planning, implementing, and evaluating theory-based and evidence-informed strategies, policies, programs, and services in a department of four professional staff, 75-120 adjunct instructors or facilitators, and 75-120 peer facilitators.
