    Job Details:

    Job Summary:

    The Throughput Advisor, Clinical Logisitics is responsible for developing positive relationships with both employed and affiliated medical staff members in order to fulfill strategic business growth and objectives. This position plays an important role in ensuring physician support and execution of for data driven network-wide throughput initiatives. Reports to Medical Director of Clinical Logistics and collaborates with VP of Physician Advisors. Position supports network wide throughput and LOS initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    + Conducts daily multidisciplinary rounds with focus on reducing LOS and readmissions.

    + Attends MDRs as needed across the network

    + Analyzes data across the network to determine opportunities for LOS and readmissions

    + Performs utilization review on inpatient studies and procedures

    + Evaluates and analyzes executive KPIs related to throughput.

    + Works with service line leaders to develop action plans on service specific throughput metrics

    + Develops and executes process improvement projects focused on throughput and patient flow

    + Supports all throughput activities across the network

    + Serves as a resource to analyze clinical logistics analytics and data

    + Serves as a resource and provides oversight to patient placement

    + Develops processes and workflows to increase capacity

    + Collaborates with hospitalists, physicians, and house staff in determining appropriate inpatient versus outpatient/observation status and providing feed-back on documentation improvement.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Experience:

    + 10 years of Clinical Hospital Experience, providing direct patient care, required

    + Minimum of 5 years of Internal medicine or Emergency Medicine experience, preferred

    Education:

    + Graduated from an accredited Medical School, required.

    + MD with Board eligibility, required.

    Licenses / Certifications:

    + Current Unrestricted MD License to practice medicine, required.

    + Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Board of Osteopathic Specialties (ABOS), preferred.

    Other:

    + Has the ability to travel among the WMCHealth network hospitals on a regular basis.

    Special Requirements:

    + Experience with data analytics and understanding of KPIs, required

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint, required

    + Experience with Teletracking/Cerner, preferred.
