    Peckham Inc. - ROOTS PH Coordinator

    POSITION SUMMARY :

    Peckham’s ROOTS Pathway Home (ROOTS PH) program is looking for a grounded, mission-driven leader to support people returning home after incarceration as the new Pathway Home Coordinator. This role is about more than managing a program — it’s about believing in second chances and helping individuals rebuild their lives through work, stability, and purpose.

     

    ROOTS PH supports people in Ingham County who are preparing for release from the local correctional facility. Over the next three years, we’ll walk alongside 150 individuals as they transition back into the community — helping them explore career interests, gain job skills, and find meaningful employment. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their past.

    As the Program Coordinator, you’ll:

    + Lead a small team delivering reentry and employment services

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with community and justice system partners

    + Oversee the program’s progress toward key goals and outcomes

    + Support a culture of accountability, empathy, and growth

     

    This position is part of a federally funded Department of Labor initiative. It’s a chance to lead with heart, build something lasting, and help people write a new chapter in their lives.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Comply with all federal grant regulations and achieve performance outcomes

    + Provide direct supervision to ROOTS PH Specialists

    + Implementation of Paid Work Experience opportunities for participants

    + Developing new employer partnerships

    + Coordinate services and opportunities with Michigan Works! office

    + Secondary Instructor for CBI-EMP skills, resume development, interview preparation, and life skills discussions

    + Create policies to guide Social Support service delivery and incentive management

    + Work with ROOTS PH Specialists to coordinate appropriate referrals to community partners including Community Mental Health, Ingham County Health Department, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Michigan Works!, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services

    + Maintain strong relationships with ICCF

    + Maintain an accurate record of participant progress, engagement, services, and incentives

    + Regular communication with parole/probation officers to coordinate support services and program activities

    + Work with Reentry Services Manager to complete monthly quantitative and narrative reporting

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Communicate with community agencies and provide information to community resources to enhance support services for program participants

    + Conduct orientation sessions for new program participants as needed

    + Work with an interdepartmental team to monitor participants’ progress and enhance the quality of services provided

    + Research and build resources and team knowledge to help Team Members navigate community resources and internal resources so they can develop independence and self-sustainability

    + May attend community and Peckham events throughout the year

    + Maintain a safe and clean work environment

    + Assist in the training of people with disabilities as needed

    + Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services with highest integrity and ethics to all customers and stakeholders

    + Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards

    + Miscellaneous duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Direct report for 2 ROOTS PH Specialists. Conduct monthly supervision meetings and annual reviews.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + This position requires passing and maintaining federal and state security background checks

    + Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy cultural diversity in the workplace

    + Bachelor's degree (B. A.) required and 0-2 years of related experience or 4-6 years of related experience

    + Minimum of 3 years Case Management experience

    + Must have understanding of public policy and applicable human resources laws

    + Ability to research and build resources through community partners and Peckham programs

    + Competence with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

    + Proficiency in, or ability to learn OnTime and Workday, or another HRIS system

    + Ability to maintain and keep strict confidentiality

    + Not currently under the jurisdiction of any corrections agency

    + Must be able to pass State of Michigan background check to gain access into the ICCF
