Description

+ Inspect, diagnose, and repair centrifugal, positive displacement, submersible, vacuum, gear, and diaphragm pumps.

+ Perform disassembly, cleaning, overhaul, reassembly, alignment, and testing of various pump systems to ensure proper function.

+ Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance according to established schedules and industry best practices.

+ Troubleshoot pump-related issues involving seals, bearings, impellers, motors, and couplings.

+ Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts usage records, and repair reports.

+ Support planning and execution of overhauls or rebuilds.

+ Assist with root cause analysis of recurring failures and recommend corrective actions.

+ Prepare inspection reports to include conditions found and recommended repairs IAW. specifications

+ Research parts and materials for pump repairs using OEM technical specifications and other various vendors to ensure repairs are completed IAW. specifications

+ Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lockout/tagout policies, and environmental regulations.

+ Train and mentor junior mechanics and maintenance staff as needed.

+ Perform other mechanical work as required to support maintenance and operations.

Qualifications

+ Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions in written or spoken in English.

+ Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure.

+ Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.

+ Must be able to use and interpret various measurement tools to include Calipers and Micrometers

+ Must have basic hand tools applicable to your trade with bag or tote.

+ Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, tech manuals and work specifications for various types of machinery and/or piping systems.

+ Must be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection)

Desired Education and Experience:

+ Education Minimum: High School Diploma/GED

+ Preferred Minimum: Trade School, Apprenticeship, or Higher Education

+ Minimum Relevant Experience: 7 year

Preferred Relevant Experience: 10+ years

+ Basic computer skills preferred

Other Requirements:

+ Must have reliable transportation

+ Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs

+ Must be able to pass a drug screening

Trade Class Designation:

Helper

Performs a variety of duties with a basic knowledge and understanding of their respective trade. The position generally requires daily supervision and typically requires at least 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Junior Tradesperson

Performs a wide variety of duties with an advanced knowledge and understanding of their respective trade. The position generally requires moderate supervision and typically requires at least 4-7 years of relevant experience.

Senior Tradesperson

Performs a wide variety of duties at an advanced or expert level. A senior tradesperson understands theory, operation, and advanced concepts within their respective trade. The position generally requires little or no supervision and typically requires at least 7-10 years of relevant experience.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and/or exert 50 lbs.; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls and machinery; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions, to wear and work in personnel protective equipment.
