Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of undergraduate residential life and housing services within the organization. Creates a positive and supportive living environment for students, manages housing assignments and operations, and develops programs and initiatives to enhance the residential experience. Leads a team of professionals dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community within our residential facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Directly supervises five full-time administrative staff members and three full-time professional staff members who in turn supervise seven full-time professional staff members. Assures effective operation of area administrative (satellite) offices.
+ Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and retention for all professional and student staff in the department.
+ Develops and communicates departmental vision for programming, student engagement, and special interest housing communities in collaboration with Residential Life staff and University Student Life colleagues.
+ Assures professional staff performance and effective compliance within university student conduct and behavioral management standards.
+ Manages Title IX training and compliance with graduate and undergraduate student staff, as well as live-in professional staff, all of whom are Federally mandated reporters of sexual misconduct and relationship violence.
+ Participates with other departments to support campus programming and student conduct compliance and accountability.
+ Collaborates with stakeholders in the development, assessment, and delivery of the first year and upper-class student residential programming.
+ Manages relationships with University Student Life colleagues to support residentially based academic and co-curricular initiatives.
+ Represents Residential Life in communication with students, parents, administrators, faculty, alumni, vendors, etc.
+ Assists Executive Director in budget development for programs, including staffing costs, graduate and undergraduate student stipends, undergraduate student employment, professional staff development and travel funds.
+ Provides oversight and approval of professional staff area expenditures.
+ Oversees student social fee accounts, including accountability for appropriate and ethical distribution of funds, training student organization advisors for accountability, monitoring accounts related to student organizations, and maintaining tax exempt compliance and federal EINs.
+ Develops and coordinates ongoing assessment of Residential Life programming and activities related to University Student Life priorities, Meliora Vision and Values, and the University Mission.
+ Engages as departmental representative to committees and task forces and participates in campus-wide academic and programmatic initiatives.
+ Serves as primary liaison with Admissions and Enrollment management regarding recruitment and yield activities.
+ Assists in researching, writing, and editing departmental communication materials, including communication with Parent and Family Relations, Office of Advancement Parent Programs, social media platforms and residential students.
+ Participates in on-call duty rotation and emergency response for all student life areas including graduate living areas, Eastman School of Music and student crises occurring off-campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Masters degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs or related field Required
+ 12 years of progressively responsible experience in Residential Life administration, including experience supervising professional staff members, or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
