As a **Civil Engineering Intern** on our Transportation Design team, you’ll take on meaningful work that directly impacts the communities we serve. Based out of our **Cedar Rapids, IA** office this **Summer 2026** opportunity offers hands-on experience with real transportation infrastructure projects, one-on-one mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the chance to contribute to innovative design solutions that make a difference.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Assist in the preparation of roadway and transportation design plans using OpenRoads Designer and other design software

    + Support the development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports

    + Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis

    + Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects

    + Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate

    Required Qualifications:

    + Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Previous Civil Engineering experience through an internship or co-op

    + MicroStation Open Roads Designer (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil3D experience
