Position Overview
International’s Huntsville Powertrain Plant is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our first shift operations team. In this key leadership role, you will serve as the go-to expert for implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, driving operational efficiency, and managing production teams in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
You’ll lead cross-functional efforts to improve process capability, reduce absenteeism and workmanship issues, optimize materials and tooling, and enhance overall workforce effectiveness.
This position is critical to the ongoing success and daily operations of the facility—ensuring production meets quality, cost, and delivery goals while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
+ Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
+ Prioritize and adjust production schedules based on product demand, equipment performance, and material availability
+ Provide technical leadership for Lean Manufacturing initiatives including line balancing, 5S, and real-time process management
+ Plan and manage budgets, workforce schedules, and labor resources
+ Oversee implementation of First Time Quality, Roll
+ Throughput Yield, and other performance metrics
+ Identify and resolve production challenges with fast, practical solutions
+ Support cross-functional areas including Facilities, Tooling, Materials, and Training
+ Recruit, develop, and evaluate team members to ensure optimal performance
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience
OR
+ Master’s degree
+ At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience
OR
+ At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
+ Prior manufacturing leadership experience
+ Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement programs
+ Experience with safety and quality programs
+ Understanding of P&L drivers and operational cost control
+ Proficient in line balancing and real-time production adjustments
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make changes on the fly
+ Proven ability to manage teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments
+ Strong communication and leadership skills at all levels of the organization
