Description

Join Astor Services to help create a safe and enjoyable environment for our children and staff. We are looking for a motivated and reliable candidate to fill our full time maintenance position. The candidate will be responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks in support of our building’s needs. This position will require having basic knowledge in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and electrical work.

The Youth ACT Team provides multidisciplinary services to clients in order to create positive change. As the licensed mental health clinician, you’ll play a role in helping the Team Leader to develop this new program to provide comprehensive services to children, adolescents and their families. As a Youth ACT Clinician, you’ll provide assessment and treatment, individual and family therapy, crisis counseling, and consultation within the client’s home and community. Job Responsibilities:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

• Must be able to operate both powered and non-powered lawn and grounds maintenance equipment.

• Must be able to operate basic power tools.

• Must be able to climb ladders.

• Must be able to negotiate confined spaces.

• Must be able to work in all outdoor climatic conditions.

• Must be able to operate agency motor vehicles and possess a valid New York State operator’s license with a driving history acceptable to the agency.

• Plumbing: repair flushometers, replace washers, copper sweating, leak repairs, correct plumbing stoppages, replace toilets, and sink repairs.

• Electric: replace outlets and switches, install wall

• Carpentry: repair doors, furniture, holes in walls, rough carpentry repairs on grounds, etc

• Masonry: rough repairs to walls, stone fencing, etc.

• To assist with multitude of tasks that arise in a maintenance program.

• May be required to assist in any agency needs at any agency sites.

• Able to handle any and all custodian maintenance problems that arise..

Requirements

You must have:

+ A valid driver's license is required with a record that meets the agency's standards.

+ The candidate must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance, operate both powered and non-powered lawn and grounds equipment, and be able to operate basic power tools.

You should have:

+ 1 year of maintenance experience.

+ High School Diploma or GED preferred.
