Overview

Shift: Monday-Friday; 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

The Surgical Technologist Educator supports staff development across Surgical Services, including the Operating Room , PACU, Endoscopy , Ambulatory Surgery , and OB Cesarean Section Room . This role collaborates with clinical educators and leadership to develop , implement , and evaluate evidence-based onboarding , orientation , and continuing education programs for surgical technologists . T he educator helps identify learning needs , deliver annual competencies , and address quality and safety initiatives . The position promotes best practices , ensures clinical competency , and supports a culture of excellence and continuous improvement . Through structured education and mentoring , the educator plays a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care and professional performance .

Responsibilities

+ Assess education needs of Surgical Services and OB team members.

+ Work collaboratively with RN Clinical Educator

+ Coordinates the scrub tech training program in collaboration with RN Educator and department leadership

+ Assists surgery staff in acquiring clinical knowledge and skills using innovative approaches to guide professional practice.

Qualifications

+ Certified Surgical Technologist

+ At least 1 year of experience in an operating room setting

+ Experience with teaching and leadership
