The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Technical Writer to join the OMIS-A program, a critical initiative supporting the U.S. Army by developing and maintaining an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related medical information systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing all program documentation, ensuring it is clear, concise, accurate, and compliant with all government standards. This role requires a strong understanding of software development, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable formats for various audiences.
Responsibilities:
+ Documentation Creation and Management: Develop, write, and maintain a wide range of technical documentation, including user manuals, system design documents, release notes, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Information Gathering: Collaborate with software developers, systems analysts, quality assurance engineers, and other subject matter experts to gather technical information for documentation.
+ Content Translation: Translate complex technical concepts and specifications into clear, user-friendly language for military end-users and non-technical stakeholders.
+ DevSecOps Support: Work within an Agile and DevSecOps environment to support continuous documentation updates in parallel with software development and new feature releases.
+ Version Control: Manage documentation versions and repositories to ensure that the most current and relevant information is always available.
+ Project Support: Assist with preparing presentations, briefings, and other materials as needed to support program activities.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
+ 5-8 years of experience as a technical writer in a software development or IT environment.
+ Proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
+ Experience with documentation tools such as [e.g., Microsoft Word, Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, etc.].

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$70,800 - $148,600
