    Summary The mission of the National Security Division (NSD) is to carry out the Department's highest priority: protect the United States from threats to our national security by pursuing justice through the law. NSD's organizational structure is designed to ensure greater coordination and unity of purpose between prosecutors and law enforcement agencies and intelligence attorneys and the Intelligence Community thus strengthening the effectiveness of the federal government's national security efforts. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and manage the collection and analysis of data from Department components and serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external inquiries related to statistical information about domestic and international terrorism investigations and prosecutions. This role requires a thorough understanding of national security and counterterrorism law, performance metrics, strategic planning, and classified program oversight. The data collected is used to inform national-level budgeting decisions on counterterrorism programs, draft legislative initiatives, guide operational decisions, and support policy recommendations. The duties and responsibilities for a Management and Program Analyst GS-0343-15 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead Department-wide efforts to collect, analyze, and report data related to domestic/international terrorism investigations and prosecutions. Direct complex statistical programs that assess evolving terrorist threats, including monitoring and analyzing cases. Develop and maintain both classified and unclassified databases that track case outcomes, performance metrics, and key operational milestones. Draft executive briefings, budget justifications, and data-driven memoranda for DOJ leadership. Develop materials for senior officials, Congressional staff, and external stakeholders to advance understanding of national security enforcement priorities. Coordinate closely with the FBI's Counterterrorism Division, U.S. Attorney's Offices (USAOs), and components of the Intelligence Community to ensure secure, consistent, and reliable data flows that support national security operations. Recommend long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones, which serve as the basis for changes in the organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position of Management and Program Analyst at (GS-0343-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 Grade Level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector which includes: 1) Provide senior leadership and stakeholders with statistical analysis and reporting from data to identify trends and present results on domestic and international terrorist organizations, or criminal organizations. And 2) Develop, implement, analyze or evaluate data management or data management plans, procedures, or tools to collect and correct data discrepancies with respect to the tracking of investigations and prosecutions.
