Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable and mission-focused ADP/LAN Specialist to support a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Training Program. The ADP/LAN Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the operation, maintenance, and security of automated data processing (ADP) systems and local area network (LAN) infrastructure. Working under the supervision of the Lead ADP/LAN Specialist, this position ensures that network systems function efficiently and securely to support daily operations and mission-critical tasks. This role involves assisting with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software, monitoring system performance, and supporting users with technical issues. The ADP/LAN Specialist also helps implement cybersecurity protocols, maintain system documentation, and ensure compliance with organizational IT policies. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to grow within a collaborative IT environment. Roles and Responsibilities
+ Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN hardware and software.
+ Monitor network performance and report issues to the Lead ADP/LAN Specialist.
+ Support users with technical issues related to connectivity, access, and system functionality.
+ Help implement cybersecurity protocols and maintain system security.
+ Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and inventory.
+ Perform routine system checks, backups, and updates.
+ Administer and maintain Windows Server environments including configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
+ Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
+ Conduct server and network maintenance, ensuring stability, reliability, and compliance with security standards.
+ Accept complete and total ownership of the assigned network, ensuring its operational readiness at all times.
+ Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory.
+ Hands-on knowledge of permissions management, GPOs, and access controls.
+ Background in server/network maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
+ Demonstrated ability to take full accountability for IT infrastructure with minimal oversight.
Basic Qualifications
+ Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
+ 4 years of experience in military-related ADP/LAN support.
+ An understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and hardware.
+ Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and safe computing practices.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ Experience working in a government or military IT environment.
+ Familiarity with enterprise-level network tools and ticketing systems.
+ Interest in pursuing advanced certifications and career growth in network administration.
