Job Description:
The purpose of this position is committed to student success. The primary purpose of this professional position is to serve as the technical expert and resource to students, parents, faculty, staff, and outside constituents regarding various financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and regulations. This position will have an extensive understanding of state and financial aid rules and regulations to help students maximize their financial aid eligibility. This position will provide, on a daily basis, clear, understandable guidance to the Student Success team on what additional information is needed to determine financial aid eligibility and awards. This position will manage student financial aid records with an emphasis on student loan programs and government grant programs. The financial aid assistant provides customer service to students, families, staff and community members. The incumbent serves as a member of the Student Success and Retention Team, focused on student access, retention, persistence, and success. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating financial aid services linked to retention-based outreach and student success initiatives to a diverse student population, specifically first generation, low income, and the historically underrepresented. This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
Salary Range:
$50,070 - $69,906
Minimum Qualifications
+ 2-years experience in a related field.
+ Knowledge of a variety of governing compliance agencies as well as their regulations and policies
+ Working knowledge of the applicable software to run programs needed by the center
+ Ability to communicate clearly in writing and oral presentations
+ Governmental policy interpretation skills
Preferred Qualification
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field
+ Professional working experience in Accounting, Banking, Business, or Mathematics.
+ Governmental policy implementation skills
+ Postsecondary education experience
+ Demonstrate ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
8:00am - 4:30pm / Monday - Friday
