JOB SUMMARY
Marriott operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts and branded residential properties. Marriott’s Law Department services the Company's lodging and hospitality business and provides legal advice and counsel to Marriott’s internal clients.
As Legal Counsel, Global Privacy & AI, you will be a trusted advisor to our hospitality business leaders—offering practical, forward-thinking guidance on privacy, AI, and data-related matters that touch every corner of our operations. In this role, you will counsel the business on the intersection between innovative technology and the law and help shape how we navigate these high-impact areas across the company.
This role provides legal support and leadership for our Individual Rights and Privacy Impact and AI Assessment programs, partnering closely with the business teams that run them day-to-day. You will be expected to interpret complex global privacy and AI laws and translate them into actionable, business-aligned strategies—always with a focus on creativity, compliance, and clarity.
Success in this role requires more than legal acumen. We are looking for someone with maturity, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment to balance competing priorities, manage complex projects, build trust across teams, and deliver advice for complex issues in a simplified way that supports both risk mitigation and innovation. If you are energized by complexity, eager to learn from top-tier colleagues, and ready to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
The Legal Counsel, Global Privacy & AI will be a member of Marriott International’s Law Department in the Global Legal Compliance group at Marriott’s corporate headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. This is a hybrid role with an expectation to be in the office at least three (3) days a week.
