As a Nutrition Services Assistant on our team, your job will be to create a healing environment and nutritious food - just like our patients have come to expect. A caregiver in this position works various days/evenings from 6:00AM - 9:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Set up, deliver and serve food.

+ Assist with daily dietary requests and needs of patients, visitors and caregivers.

+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

+ Prepare, set up and replenish steam table, salad bar, cooler, baker's racks, coffee area, condiments and silverware throughout the meal period.

+ Make pizzas to order and maintain all ingredients.

+ Set up and support catering events.

+ Maintain the register and proper cash handling with overages/shortages of less than 1.5% of total drawer.

+ Ensure proper food temperature using calibrated thermometers.

+ Rotate, prepare and label all leftover food.

+ Set up, serve and collect dinner patient trays.

+ Complete cleaning assignments.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Good reading and writing skills

+ Ability to add, subtract and handle other arithmetic functions

+ Basic computer skills

+ Can accurately measure and portion formula and food

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Two years of experience in nutrition in a healthcare setting

Physical Requirements:

+ Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.

+ Ability to reach with hands and arms.

+ Ability to talk and hear.

+ Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

+ Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

+ Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
