The Department of Probation (DOP) is seeking an organized, proactive, and resourceful IT Business Analyst to support the IT Department. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform as a skilled Business Analyst resource for assigned project/product teams;
- Understand business needs and elicit, document, and validate business requirements;
- Manage and plan the business analysis information elicitation efforts, such as conducting stakeholder analysis, planning elicitation and collaboration tasks, and creating business analysis schedules and timelines;
- Perform elicitation to define requirements and recommend solutions for IT projects and initiatives by interviewing stakeholders, conducting interface analysis, reviewing documentation, and utilizing other techniques set forth in the IIBA BABOK, IQBBA Syllabi, and DOP-provided resources;
- Deliver the results of business analysis information elicitation in the form of organized notes and models
- Translate enterprise and stakeholder needs into clearly defined and documented IT solution requirements / user stories;
- Analyze “as is” and “to be” business processes and conduct Gap Analysis;
- Spearhead the assessment, prioritization, verification, and validation of requirements with the business, the project team, end users, and other stakeholders;
- Provide insight into business needs, requirements deliverables, and analysis processes/methodologies to the project/product teams and other stakeholders;
- Develop supporting analysis documentation, including but not limited to: high-level and detailed requirements, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data dictionaries, data and UML models, content and message inventories, UX research findings, UX design recommendations, and mock-ups;
- Identify test conditions, including business scenarios to be tested, and assist with User Acceptance Testing and Demonstrations;
- Conduct UX research and document findings to ensure that the needs and desires of end users and constituents are understood, communicated, and considered;
- Work with agency stakeholders, project managers, and project/product team(s) to obtain consensus and signoff on requirements deliverables;
- Support other members of project team(s) and the customer(s) in their understanding of end user and constituent needs, human-centered and user-focused design, and UX research processes/methodologies
- Validate that the application fulfills requirements and meets end user expectations;
- Manage defect triage during internal and external testing events;
- Develop and maintain any additional supplemental documentation, artifacts, and deliverables generated in the Analysis & Design phase, as dictated by DOP's project/product methodologies, policies, standards, and guidelines;
- Work with solution architects to support solution analysis, feasibility assessments, and value assessments as needed to recommend IT solutions to meet business and end user needs;
- Create, maintain, and conduct business analysis and UX Research workshops;
- Assist in creating new business analysis standards and guidelines and in adoption of new and emerging technologies and practices;
- Transition all project artifacts and knowledge prior to disengaging from a project;
- Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.

Salary Min: $ 75,000.00
Salary Max: $105,000.00
