Senior Cyber Defense Operations Tactical Support Specialist

The Senior Cyber Defense Operations Tactical Support Specialist will be a key contributor within the Cyber Security and Resilience (CS&R) Cyber Defense team. This role involves close collaboration with all Cyber Defense Teams, commercial vendors, and other Citizens Bank functional teams.

Responsibilities:

+ Deliver initial and targeted training to newly hired SOC analysts.

+ Review and refine cyber defense training curriculum based on the NIST/NICE framework.

+ Assist in evaluating security toolsets used by SOC analysts.

+ Collaborate with Cyber Defense Management to identify training needs and skill gaps.

+ Conduct ticket analysis quality assurance reviews and provide feedback.

+ Perform ongoing monitoring and threat analysis using logs, net flow data, and packet capture.

+ Mentor junior staff on the security and technical team.

+ Identify potential IT security incidents and escalate to Incident Response senior staff.

+ Assess threat and vulnerability information from internal and external sources.

+ Apply mitigation techniques promptly.

+ Assess potential security risks and business impacts using cybersecurity tools and processes.

+ Present recommendations to management.

+ Proactively protect, monitor, investigate, and resolve threats to secure user environments and company assets.

Experience & Skills:

+ Minimum 3 years in cybersecurity, including operations, compliance, hardening, and network support.

+ Knowledge of enterprise logging (application, OS, security technology).

+ Strong understanding of various operating systems, with emphasis on Security Operations.

+ Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

+ Experience in computer/security incident handling, coordination, and response.

Education & Certifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Security or IT-related field, or equivalent experience.

+ Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundations, CCP, Net+, Sec+, CEH).

Work Schedule:

+ Hours per Week: 40

+ Schedule: Monday through Friday
