    This role in summary

     

    Our Ottawa Manufacturing team is looking for a CAL Tech to join our team!

     

    $21.10 per hour

     

    $1.25 per hour shift premium.

    Your responsibilities will include

    + Capable of identifying BIR products that fail to meet quality expectations - through visual and/or testing inspection and disposal according to the established process

    + Support improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost, and safety as well as continuous improvement through Kaizen

    + Must be able to communicate and receive communications regarding safety components and job instruction

    + Data collection and failure mode root cause analysis of defective units

    + Liaise with other departments/functions as required to drive change and implement containment and/or corrective actions to mitigate quality defects

    + Work on a moving/conveyor style production line or stabilized workstation

    + Ensures that the workstation is kept in a clean and safe condition.

    + Participate and engage fully in training experiences

    + Follow all company policies and procedures

    + Support in recognizing and defining problems, collecting data, and developing conclusions

    + Utilities may be asked to work outside their designated department

    + Stack, lift (floor to overhead) and carry up to 40 pounds if required

    + Other tasks as needed

    Minimum requirements

    + Consistently demonstrates the Whirlpool Values

    + Strong computer skills including data analysis and chart creation

    + Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal)

    + Must be self-motivated and able to lead programs and/or projects independently

    + Willingness to be hands on

    + Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize issues and tasks

    + Have a strong desire for personal and professional development

    + Must be able to identify problems, analyze root cause and implement solutions that address the root-cause and minimize business risk

    + Outstanding problem solving skills

    + Customer focused, team-oriented, and able to drive sustainable business solutions

    + Must be willing and able to work overtime and have the flexibility to work any shift

    Preferred skills and experiences

    + 2+ year engineering/manufacturing experience

    + WCM (World Class Manufacturing) tool usage and knowledge

    + Drafting software (Google Workspace)

    + Blueprint reading
