The Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) business unit within American Express comprises key functions that are core to company’s operations, including Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience, Global Supply Management, Business Continuity Management, Aviation, and Global Security. ESS helps keep American Express (AXP) growing and puts our colleagues at the center of everything they do by delivering best-in-class services that power safe, resilient, and efficient operations around the world.
To support the growing complexity of ESS operations and to help manage heightened risk management expectations, ESS is creating a new Quality & Operations team. The ESS Quality & Operations team will provide strategic coordination between ESS business process owners and AXP risk programs and act as a single point of accountability to drive ESS’s adherence to key AXP risk policies and standards.
The Manager – ESS Process Governance will be part of this new team and will drive ESS adherence to key requirements across several risk disciplines including compliance risk management, operational risk management and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Establish ESS process governance and drive ESS results against key risk and performance measures including but not limited to: Technology Application Health & Compliance, Records Retention Management, Regulatory Change Management, Privacy Risk Assessments, Cybersecurity and Enterprise Training.
+ Support the management of third parties that provide services to ESS Operations by acting as the ESS Third-Party Lifecycle Management (TLM) lead and serve as the ESS Affiliate Management program liaison.
+ Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business partners across Enterprise Shared Services and with key stakeholders from Control Management, Compliance and with various first line risk programs.
+ Communicate potential risks and issues to ESS leadership and plan to ensure that deadlines are consistently met.
+ Demonstrate the American Express values by ensuring that all work is completed to the highest professional standards and complies with the Company's business ethics.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Drives Results: Strong attention to detail and superior organizational and follow through skills.
+ Effective Collaborator: Effectively manages internal stakeholders and process owners across Enterprise Shared Services. Collaborates effectively with key stakeholders, including with the Corporate Functions Control Management team.
+ Bias Towards Action: Ability to steer program stakeholders and leaders to make informed and timely decisions and removes barriers to forward progress.
+ Clear Communicator: Able to communicate clearly and effectively at multiple levels of the organization and can influence without direct authority.
+ Team Player: Effectively works independently within a team construct, while supporting teamwork and achievement of team objectives.
+ Relationship Builder: Strong relationship skills including the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and levels.
+ Adaptable: Able to adapt to change while keeping a continuous improvement mindset.
+ Previous experience with project or program management is a plus.
+ Previous experience in a risk/control field is plus. E.g., Operational Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management, Third-Party Risk Management, Audit, etc.
+ Undergraduate degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
