    About the Role

     

    The Import/Export Compliance Specialist at CBRE is responsible for managing international trade operations to ensure compliance with global regulations. This role is responsible for import/export documentation, reviews SDS for dangerous goods, and coordinates with internal teams and external partners. Key responsibilities include tracking shipments, inputting SLIs via freight forwarder portals, and maintaining daily reports. A strong understanding of Export Administration Regulations, DOT, and IATA is critical. This position supports global business operations and ensures all trade activities align with company policies and legal standards.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    Prepare and review export and import documentation to ensure compliance with Export Administration Regulations and other relevant laws.

     

    Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to facilitate the timely shipment and delivery of goods.

     

    Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipment status to ensure timely and efficient operations.

     

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientist, logistics, and compliance, to resolve any issues related to import/export processes.

     

    Conduct regular audits of export transactions to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

     

    Support C-TPAT certification process through continuous oversight and improvement.

    What You’ll Need

    + High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of job-related experience. May require equipment certification for forklifts, aerial lifts, and power pallet jacks.

    + Physical requirements to include stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs.

    + Experience in shipping dangerous goods by DOT, IATA, and IMDG preferred.

    + Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.

    + Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.

    + Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    + Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mentality.

    + Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
