Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

+ Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic Imaging patient.

+ Use therapeutic communication in daily practice

+ Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment

+ Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients

+ Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process

+ Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care

+ Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver

+ Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement

+ Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment

+ Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs

+ Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned

+ Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization

What qualifications you will need:

+ Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

+ If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.

+ Experience with radiation safety required

+ Oncology, ICU or ER experience preferred

+ Experience with infant to adult radiology patients, preferred

+ Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license

+ Current AHA or ARC BLS provider

+ Current ACLS

+ PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer
