    Job Description

    Purpose:

    The Associate Director of Professional Education Programs will provide general project and program support to the TEES Professional & Continuing Education initiatives under the Texas A&M Engineering Workforce Development. In particular, the Associate Director (AD) is charged with the day to day operations of the EDGE business unit. The AD manages the EDGE production process for P&CE. This process includes the activities for the initiation, definition, contracting, development, delivery, and control of P&CE courses. The AD manages the routine activities of the PMs on staff in the execution of this process. Additionally, the AD supports special initiatives identified by the director. The AD is supported by a program specialist and program managers.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage functions for the Professional & Continuing Education Program, including complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters in determining work priorities; analyzes and develops administrative operations; monitor budgets for programs and events.

    + Oversee and execute programs related to Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) including maintaining data in the student management systems and other software platforms, engage Center and Departmental Division personnel to facilitate the delivery of PCE activities and help coordinate conference activities related to PCE both in College Station and remote locations

    + Oversees and executes programs related to enrollment in professional and continuing education (PCE) activities, work with researchers and faculty to facilitate short courses, conferences, and symposiums.

    + Oversee and support events and meetings such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops to include logistics such as ‘run of show’, staffing, location and set up, meals, attendees, AV equipment, paper submission, etc.

    + Manages web materials; manages marketing and communications for programs; develops and maintains/distributes programmatic marketing materials.

    + Creates and maintains various databases; maintains program statistics to satisfy metrics.

    + Assist with the preparation of grant proposals related to professional and continuing education programs, including supporting the writing process and helping develop budgets in collaboration with faculty and staff.

    + This position requires direct engagement with minors and youth during program activities. The employee is expected to fully adhere to all university policies and state regulations pertaining to the safety and protection of minors.

    + Performs related duties as required.

    What we need:

    + Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Eight years of related experience.

    What is helpful:

    + Related experience in project and/or program management including related supervisory experience.

    + Conference or event planning and logistics.

    + Market research and marketing strategy.

    + Experience with learning management systems, student management systems, and/or client/customer relationship management systems.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Working knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computers. Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software programs. Interpersonal and communication skills and abilities to plan and organize effectively.

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    + Proficient with using MS Office Suite including using Outlook as a tool for tracking/managing multiple calendars.

    Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:

    + Project management training or certified project management professional.

    Other Requirements:

    + Must be able to travel on occasion (both day and overnight trips).
