What You’ll do
The Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the execution of the project in accordance with the Owner EPC agreement and have remote and on-site teams to support him / her in the execution of the work at all levels. This is a hybrid role located in either our Austin, Denver, or San Francisco offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Overall responsibility to manage and administer all aspects of the EPC contract. Assist legal team and Lightsource bp management with negotiations of the EPC contract and preparation of technical exhibits. Proactively manage and execute all requirements of the EPC agreement towards achieving Mechanical, Substantial and Final Completion of the project in accordance with the schedule, reporting, quality, and other requirements of the contract.
• Maintain responsibility for the project budget and risk management. Responsible for managing cost and schedule goals of assigned projects through project closeout.
• Establish and foster a project team culture that prioritizes safety and quality within the entire project team.
• Report to Lightsource bp management regularly on the progress of the Project (Monthly Report, Weekly Updates, etc.) and inform stakeholders at the functional level.
• Responsible for direct reports from PM Organization. Participate in staffing and performance management of project management group. Manage key initiatives, training, and mentoring as required for project management staff. Collaborate with HR / recruiting on interviewing candidates and onboarding and training. Recommend hiring and managing staff contracted by Lightsource bp as needed during construction.
• Represent Lightsource bp and establish relationships for the matters related to the Project with Authorities, Regulatory Agencies and professional organizations in coordination with Lightsource bp Executives.
• Ensure Lightsource bp and subcontractors’ compliance with all permits and laws, and mitigation measures on the project. Maintain high level contact with permitting officials. Provide input / insight on the permitting with focus on the construction related permits, but also providing support and guidance on the non-discretionary permits.
• Assist in the negotiations and execution of interconnection agreements. Coordinate directly or manage through project team members with the electrical transmission authorities and other interconnection parties and manage the execution of the work to successfully achieve interconnection with the grid and meet the requirement of the agreements.
• Oversee the management of the system design and construction process. Make sure that all RFI’s and Submittals are responded to in a timely manner.
• Issue contractual letters and notices and change orders to protect Lightsource bp from Owner and subcontractor claims.
• Work with procurement and engineering teams to identify and order long lead equipment
• Develop and execute strategy for all subcontractor and consultant procurement. Identify qualified contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
• Coordinate with procurement team to ensure all Owner-supplied equipment and materials are ordered and delivered to site in the required timeline.
• Manage close-out of the punch list and successful turnover to Asset Management and O&M team.
• Work with internal cross-functional teams leading up to construction mobilization and throughout project construction & close-out.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-year, complex construction projects
• Proven ability to successfully procure, manage, large commercial or industrial construction subcontracts.
• Proven ability to successfully forecast, develop, and manage multi-million dollar and multi-year project budgets
• A strong understanding of financial tracking and reporting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical diagrams and familiarity with building and electrical codes.
• Experience with Substations and Interconnection requirements

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, and / or Business. Master’s degree is a plus
• 5+ years supervisory or group lead experience is required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project is required.
• Spanish speaking is a plus
Experience
• 12+ years of combined renewables, industrial and / or commercial construction
• Excellent and proven leadership and personnel management skills.

• Competitive compensation: $166,000 to Up to $184,000 annually plus a discretionary 20% annual bonus.
