Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Business Development is responsible for Development and Growth of Strategic Key Account development initiatives which support the achievement of growth objectives and strategies for the Personal Care Service line. The position is to increase the market share of Elara Caring by leading the efforts to identify, maintain, and expand relationships, including but not limited to, Hospital Systems, Physician Groups, and Managed Long Term Care companies. This position is responsible for establishing a Business Plan for a defined geographic territory, Strategic Account Forecast reports, monthly reviews, and coaching sessions to review account activity, and meeting/ exceeding Admission budgets.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business marketing, or organizational development is required.
• EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in project and performance management of strategic programs and two (2) years of experience of strategic sales leadership in health care.
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Not applicable.
• SKILLS:
• Proven Sales Producer. Demonstrates excellent prospecting, presentation, multi service selling, and territory management skills.
• Exhibits working knowledge of regulations and reimbursement in acute care, primary care, and post-acute services.
• In-depth knowledge of the dynamics of the New Jersey Licensed Home Care process including Medicaid, Managed Long-term Care, and Private Pay.
• Excellent value added and solution selling skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate across all departments and service lines.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with all the organization’s customers.
• Exhibit decision-making, problem-solving, employee relations, and conflict resolution skills.
• TRANSPORTATION: Must have a dependable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with the laws of the State.
• TRAVEL: Ability to travel which could include overnight stay.
• HEALTH STATUS: Meets all applicable agency policies and procedures related to health screening and required testing.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements, tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
• Locates or proposes potential business dals by contacting partners, discovering, and exploring opportunities.
• Screens potential business delas by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
• Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements with business operations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Ensures that all activities performed align with the vision of Elara Caring’s board of directors, executive team, and the leadership of the Corporate Sales team.
• Reports strategies and results to the Regional Vice President of PCS.
• Oversees and reviews data from database systems to ensure accurate partnership reporting, outcomes, etc.
• Drives growth by working with leadership to develop a growth culture including ensuring that growth strategies are discussed at a section of local, regional, divisional, and corporate meetings.
• Analyzes growth, revenue, and profitability trends to ensure partnership performance expectations are achieved.
• Coordinates ongoing activities to assure knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of local, regional, and national competitors.
• Acts as the brand champion ensuring that operational and sales management and sales staff understand and can articulate differentiators.
• Meets or exceeds established Key Account growth goals, revenue goals, and collaborates with sales managers and sales staff’s attainment of goals.
• Promotes positive team image and inter-agency communication.
• Provides role modeling of teamwork, accountability, and positive attitude.
• Assesses partnership performance and recommend solutions which resolve barriers and problems which are preventing successful achievement of the admission goals.
• Conducts market assessments to develop strategic growth plan including expansion of service territory, additional locations, additional product offerings, and acquisition opportunities.
• Maintains current knowledge of, and promotes compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Plans projects thoroughly and systematically, to yield results of practical value to produce outcomes.
• Promotes Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
• Maintains patient and staff privacy and confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA Privacy Final Rule.
• Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
• Mentally demanding, high stress environment
• Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently and be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Move equipment and supplies necessary for job functions.
• Read, speak, and write English to fulfill job functions in an understandable way.
• See/hear or use prosthetics that enable accomplishment of job.
• Meet the health requirements of the agency.
• Possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, chemicals, and repetitive motions
• Abide by all occupational safety and bloodborne pathogen protocol to minimize illness and/or injury.
• Complete required work daily
• Cope with work involving ill, disabled, and dying patients.
