Essential Job Duties:
The Technical Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training materials for HR systems and processes. This includes creating written system guides, video-based instruction, and interactive online learning activities. The primary target audience consists of HR professionals, but could include faculty and staff, across the NC State campus, with varying levels of knowledge and experience. The Technical Trainer will also conduct live training sessions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Course Design and Development
+ Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs, resources, and materials for various technical systems and software applications in collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
+ Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to staff using technical systems.
+ Identify and implement course revisions to improve learning outcomes.
Leadership and Project Management
+ Lead and manage training projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure training programs meet the needs of all departments.
Instruction
+ Conduct virtual training sessions for employees.
+ Adapt instructional delivery methods to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of employees.
+ Evaluate and incorporate feedback to continuously improve instructional delivery and training materials.
Consultation and Collaboration
+ Consult with subject matter experts and UHR leadership on needs assessment, course redesign, and evaluation of the effectiveness of technologies and techniques in the teaching and learning process.
Evaluation and Reporting
+ Gather and report evidence of the impact of instructional innovations on learner success, course and departmental efficiency, and UHR strategic goals.

Required Qualifications:
+ Proven experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role.
+ Strong knowledge of HR systems and technologies.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ Ability to create engaging and effective instructional materials.
+ Proficiency in using various training delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning platforms.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Certification in instructional design or a related discipline.
+ Two years of training development experience in a higher education setting.
+ Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
+ Experience in developing and delivering HR system training.
+ Experience in using and developing content for online course management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, etc.).
+ Experience working with HR systems, preferably PeopleSoft, ServiceNow HR Service Delivery, PeopleAdmin, or a similar HR information system.
+ Experience with blended/hybrid learning design
