Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a Senior/Procurement Manager for Packaging materials for the North American division, located in Piscataway, New Jersey. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the supply, cost, quality, and service of a group of packaging materials for the division. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies with the collaboration of Plant Procurement Operations and leading negotiations and relationship management with suppliers . You will have a clear understanding of the market drivers influencing the dynamics of sourcing to drive cost efficiencies & savings, risk management activities and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate any service/quality issues as well as supporting innovation and new product development.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop strong material strategies encompassing market dynamics, holistic risk management, capacity planning, segmentation strategies, sustainability and cost efficiencies
+ Implement outstanding strategies and maintain relationships and alliances with current suppliers so that they are in tune with developments and directions in Colgate business units.
+ Ensures the development of documented understanding of divisional market structure and drivers for materials and identifies opportunities and threats for the future
+ Develops and negotiates contracts for key materials and cost model development partnering with legal team
+ Maintain strong supplier relationships to proactively mitigate possible service and/or quality issues acting as an escalation partner for Procurement Operational team
+ Identifying, developing, and leading strategic business relationships, internally and externally, to ensure the alignment of sourcing strategies, sustainability roadmap & project implementation (including packaging needs at contract manufacturer) to meet business requirements.
+ Collaborate with suppliers, technical and other functional groups as well as category manufacturing services, Technology, Marketing and Finance functions to implement Procurement policies, resolve issues, align service and financial compliance including mold/asset management strategies
+ Leads continuous improvement programs with suppliers including savings projects
+ Support the Supplier Relationship Management program by completing a Holistic Risk Assessment and audits on suppliers and support Responsible Sourcing Initiatives
+ Responsible for budget preparation and completion using divisional/global commodity market insights
+ Ensure achievement of the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators (Customer Service, Non-Conformance, unplanned down time due to material shortage, Funding The Growth, Single Source Management, Supplier Diversity)
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field
+ 8+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain, or Financial experience
+ Experience developing material strategies & cost models with a deep understanding of commodity impacts
+ Experience managing RFI and RFP processes
+ Experience with market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance and supplier relationship management
Preferred Qualifications:
+ An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management)
+ Plant operations or planning experience
+ Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, deal with ambiguity, and a willingness and ability to learn
+ Experience with planning, operation or raw/packaging materials in SAP and google suite
+ Ability to work with with stakeholders and cross functional team thru relationship building using formal and informal influence with strong project management skills
+ Problem solving skills to ensure timely resolution of challenges & data driven decision making
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $120,000.00 - $168,500.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
