• Corporate Banking Analyst

    Overview:

    Position will support activities related to the business development, client management, and team building efforts for Corporate/Institutional Banking. Assisting the team primarily with various sales support functions to onboard new client relationships, expand existing client relationships, and continued team development. To a lesser extent, the position will collaborate as needed with other bank partners (e.g., product and credit partners) to drive customer development and prospect conversion.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Act as primary day-to-day contact for transaction execution support including the collaboration across credit, legal, compliance and various product groups within the bank.

    + Assist with client requests and service-related activities across industry verticals and/or regional coverage.

    + Research and prepare credit screening memos for internal discussions.

    + Coordinate the modeling of profitability measures and relationship planning efforts across the team.

    + Lead client and prospect database activities to maintain good data hygiene.

    + Lead event management for internal events and training, and external events for event ticket management and special events

    + Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

    + Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

    + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

    + Complete other related duties as assigned.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    Incumbent will provide analytical and transaction execution support to grow Corporate/Institutional Banking’s lending book while maximizing DCM/ECM, Treasury Management, and Wilmington Trust fee opportunities for M&T.

     

    Works with limited supervision from senior bankers.

     

    Interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

    Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

    None

    Education and Experience Required:

    Bachelor's Degree in banking , finance field with a minimum of two years work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience.

     

    Financial analysis and knowledge of credit principles

     

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using diplomacy.

     

    Excellent presentation skills.

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    Advanced computer skills and strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point.

     

    Prior experience working within a financial institution

     

    M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $77,669.27 - $129,448.78 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
