    Senior Material Planner

    What you will do

     

    The Material Planner-Senior is responsible for driving Procurement activities and adapting delivery schedules or other agreements to ensure on-time deliveries and material availability at the point of use. This role involves managing large projects or end-to-end processes with limited oversight from the manager, coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals, and solving complex problems. Additionally, this role drives AI and automation adoption.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Procurement and Scheduling: Drive Procurement delivery schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and material availability at the point of use.

    + Delivery Analysis: Analyze and act on late/early deliveries and other warnings/alerts to maintain optimal supply chain performance. Drive mitigation plans.

    + Parameter Verification: Verify and secure correct parameter settings and master data to ensure accurate and efficient material planning.

    + Transport Optimization: Contribute to transport optimization efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

    + Project Management: Manage large projects or end-to-end processes with limited oversight from the manager, ensuring successful completion and alignment with organizational goals.

    + Artificial Intelligence / Automation Focus: Lead and drive AI and automation initiatives across both Prototype Purchasing and Prototype Operations. This role will be responsible for integrating AI into daily work. Candidates should be proficient with tools such as—but not limited to—CoPilot Studio, Power Automate, Python, and VBA.

    + Team Leadership: Coach, review, and train lower-level Material Planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

    + Problem Solving: Address and resolve difficult and complex problems that arise in the material planning process.

    Requirements

    + 8 years of relevant experience in material planning or a related field.

    + A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related discipline is preferred.

    + Proficiency in material planning software and tools, including, MS Project, Protom, Power BI, Excel, Gloria, GPS

    At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,100 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
