Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in an onsite role. The position involves working within a large specialty pharmacy, focusing on simplifying medication access and providing personalized care to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients with rare diseases. The role requires exceptional communication skills to effectively manage insurance types and pharmacy claims, along with a strong customer service orientation.
Responsibilities
+ Recognize and effectively communicate about insurance types and when each type would be utilized.
+ Enter all communication and documentation
+ Assist with projects such as yearly reverification.
+ Communicate with patients to gather appropriate insurance information.
+ Triage prescriptions to preferred pharmacies or HUB providers when Biologics is unable to serve the patient.
+ Appropriately process pharmacy claims
+ Recognize and understand pharmacy claim responses.
+ Manage inbound calls from patients, clients, physicians, and payors regarding patient updates and services provided.
+ Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to clinicians.
+ Manage and reply to internal written communications and requests received via chat or email.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, data entry, or call center environments.
+ Customer service experience with prior authorizations.
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is a plus.
+ Ability to recognize and communicate about insurance types effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of related experience preferred.
+ Registered Technician status is required.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment, operating Monday through Friday with no weekend shifts. The office is open from 8am to 8pm EST, and shifts vary between 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm, and 11am-8pm EST. The role does not involve direct patient contact and offers the potential to become a permanent employee. The office is closed for major holidays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
