Job Title: Staff Scientist - Biology Job Description
The Staff Scientist, DMB role is primarily responsible for providing DMPK support for discovery and development projects through in vivo pharmacokinetics studies. This position involves preparing doses, scheduling, and coordinating these studies, as well as performing generic lab functions. There is also an opportunity for cross-training on in vitro assay support.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate discovery in vivo pharmacokinetic studies.
+ Prepare dose formulations for in vivo studies.
+ Prepare Discovery PK Study Request forms and Dose Preparation sheets, and review protocols for contracted studies.
+ Communicate and manage logistics with CRO partners to schedule large species studies.
+ Perform general lab functions, such as preparing buffers, organizing test articles, and ordering consumable supplies.
+ Conduct in vitro ADME assays, including intrinsic clearance, protein binding, CYP inhibition, and CYP profiling.
+ With appropriate supervision, analyze data, record data, prepare summary documents, and report data as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Basic biology pipetting skills and basic laboratory techniques.
+ Molecular assay experience, including ELISA, western blots, and PCR.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
+ 0-3 years of related laboratory experience in pharmaceutical companies or CROs.
+ Competency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
+ Experience operating analytical balances and manual pipettes.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to effectively multi-task.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with in vitro assays and ADME profiling.
+ Strong organizational and communication skills.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in a laboratory environment. The work involves handling laboratory equipment and performing various laboratory functions. Employees enjoy benefits such as PTO, holidays, and a paid week off during the Christmas/New Year period.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, Delaware.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
