Job Title: Solar Technician - I&C

Job Description

We are seeking an I&C Technician responsible for operating and maintaining utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing the plant's electrical and mechanical equipment, along with various other duties.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and maintain utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems.

+ Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.

+ Perform preventive maintenance on solar panels and related equipment.

+ Collaborate with plant stakeholders and communicate effectively.

+ Independently operate a solar plant and follow directions when required.

+ Engage in physically demanding activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting heavy equipment while ensuring safety in all weather conditions.

Essential Skills

+ High school graduate or equivalent.

+ 2-year college/technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

+ Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Electrical background is highly preferred.

+ Solar utility-scale inverter maintenance experience preferred.

+ Strong technical background in electrical and electronic devices and equipment.

+ Instrumentation experience is a plus.

+ Experience with PV and inverters is desired.

+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

+ Ability to apply principles of logical thinking and deal with various situations.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working at a solar plant, which requires engaging in physically demanding activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting heavy equipment, and working safely in all types of weather.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Stockton, TX

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
