Support Engineer

The successful engineer in this role will:
+ Understand how servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale.
+ Possess superb troubleshooting, project management and problem analysis skills.
+ Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.
+ Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.
+ Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
+ Avoid re-inventing the wheel and prefer appropriately simple, repeatable solutions over more complex and failure prone ones.
+ Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources.
+ Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
+ Relentless passion for frugality and out-of-the-box engineering.
+ Strong system troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience and proven track record in enterprise level IT services & operations
+ Experience working with development support tools like Jira, Confluence, Asana.
+ Robust understanding of support processes (SLA), handling tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics
+ Strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous customer-focused problems, and track record of delivering products/services in a highly technical multi-team environment
Highly Desirable Attributes:
+ Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
+ Experience with AWS infrastructure technologies like EC2, S3 bucket, AMIs, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, Certificate Manager Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
+ Systems integration experience.
+ Breadth of technical proficiency in areas like Unix/Linux administration, Network Administration, Programming Language Concepts or Security Engineering Linux based systems administration experience.
+ Understanding of TCP/IP and Internet technologies like digital certificates, well-known TCP ports, web server security, AWS security.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
