    Position Summary

    The Senior Design Engineer is a seasoned professional contributor responsible for leading and executing complex product design initiatives within the pet food sector. Operating independently with limited supervision, this role influences project outcomes and departmental results through technical expertise and innovative problem-solving. The Senior Engineer supervises project teams, coaches’ junior engineers, and manages projects or processes, ensuring the successful development and commercialization of innovative products.

    Lead Innovation and Renovation Support (Product Development)

    + Collaborate & Coordinate with St Louis TAG teams to develop manufacturing strategy for new or renovated product and equipment launches.

    + Support and execute first saleable production runs for new or renovated product launches with St. Louis TAG teams.

    + Support post launch operations through system optimizations and operational troubleshooting.

    Manufacturing Expansion Support (Capital Projects)

    + Collaborate with cross functional project teams to establish and formalize project priorities, technical requirements, and detailed design.

    + Verify that new production lines are designed and built in accordance with divisional standards.

    + Support site acceptance testing of key processing equipment to verify technical performance criteria are met

    + Develop training, testing, and commissioning plan for new equipment, processes, and systems.

    + Organize and lead product and process qualification for new manufacturing lines.

    + Deliver key processing standards in accordance with line design and operating principles.

    US Factory Support

    + Develop and update processing equipment standards and routines for both new and existing equipment

    + Train and coach factory associates on new and existing processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.

    + Ideate, assess, and implement process-related continuous improvement opportunities that advance safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, hygiene, yield, cost savings, sustainability etc. in our factories

    + Engage with factory engineering team on CAPEX projects including commissioning, qualification, and verification support of new equipment and processes.

    + Provide onsite and remote process and product troubleshooting support as needed.

     

    Open to up to 50% travel

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical, industrial, mechanical engineering, food science or a related field with 3+ years of experience working with food processing within an industrial, manufacturing, production, or related field.

    OR

    + High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of experience working with food processing within an industrial, manufacturing, production, or related field.

     

    The approximate pay range for this position is $96,000 to $132,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
