Position Description
Coordindate and manage the maintenance and equipment repair function of the terminal. Will report to Terminal Manager and supervise maintenance staff. This position is also a hands on position.
1. Ensure the maintenance team has required tools, parts, and resources to perform their job effectively and safely
2. Support the Operations Manager when implementing systems, schedules and procedures, and communicate these initiatives to the maintenance team
3. Bolster morale on the maintenance team by providing comprehensive training, and recognizing the individual and team accomplishments
4. Ensure all individuals receive compliance training
5. Develop and implement a safety-meeting for maintenance and actively participate in facility safety drills
6. Oversee all contractor work on site to ensure the contractors comply with facility standards and procedures
7. Diligence maintaining paperwork and records, while following written procedure
8. Inspect completed jobs for quality assurance
9. Respond to unplanned operational and maintenance events
10. Plan and budget maintenance activities to work within the O&M monthly budget
11. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work process
12. Diagnose operational problems and recommend corrective action
13. Work with the management team to establish goals, priorities, and expectations, and to help develop the action plans and strategies for accomplishing them
14. Develop and maintain Preventative Maint Program
14. Perform other duties as required by Management
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Mobile equipment, conveyor, and crane maintenance experience
Experience implementing and executing a maintenance plan
Experience leading a maintenance team
Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
+ Ø experience operating within a budget, managing inventory, ordering parts and
+ Ø Experience maintaining heavy equipment dozers, front end loaders, and dump trucks
+ Ø Experience maintaining and repairing conveyors, drives, and cranes.
+ Ø Must be able to use basic MS Office programs, MS Word and Excel
operating a computerized mechanical maintenance program are preferred. Must be able to acquire and maintain a TWIC card along with a valid drivers license. Must be able to crawl, lean, pick up and carry 50 lbs. Able to work at hieghts greater than 20 feet.
