    Description

    Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to lead and oversee the financial operations of our client's organization in South Jersey. This Controller role is critical in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting processes while driving improvements in financial reporting and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

    + Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

    + Develop and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts and provide analysis for cash allocation.

    + Collaborate with external auditors to support annual audit processes and ensure compliance.

    + Prepare financial documentation for bank covenant testing and maintain relationships with lending institutions.

    + Analyze financial statements to identify trends and issues, proposing actionable solutions to address them.

    + Oversee the filing of sales taxes, real estate taxes, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with deadlines.

    + Assist in creating annual budgets and year-end financial planning for senior management.

    + Drive process improvement initiatives within the finance department to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

    Requirements

    The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA required.

    Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:

    + 10+ years progressive experience within the manufacturing industry

    + Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead a small team

    + Strong knowledge of cost accounting preferred

    + Excellent technical skills including proficiency in MS Office. MAS 90/Sage 100 experience preferred

    + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

    + Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
