Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician working the night shift from 9:30 PM Monday night to 6:00 AM Saturday morning. You will be responsible for ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventative maintenance on production machines and troubleshooting malfunctions. This role is crucial in maintaining our continuous production flow and ensuring safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

+ Complete preventative maintenance on production machines by following diagrams, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.

+ Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation and using measuring and testing instruments.

+ Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.

+ Keep shop, engine rooms, and work areas clean, safe, and orderly.

+ Complete all assigned work orders promptly and assist in updating the PSM & PM Programs.

+ Maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.

+ Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work teams.

+ Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear all required safety gear (PPE).

+ Follow attendance guidelines and maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

+ Conduct daily rounds and report any hazards to management.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma/GED and vocational technical school.

+ 1-3 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience and education.

+ Proficiency in welding, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ammonia refrigeration.

+ Experience in the meat processing industry is preferred but not required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

+ Familiarity with PSM, refrigeration, and FDA regulations.

+ Strong mechanical, ammonia, refrigeration, and electrical skills.
