Job Title: Tandem Rolling Mill Operator Helper, All Shifts Open, 20.70hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tandem Rolling Mill Operator Helper to assist in the setup and operation of machinery. The role involves the installation and adjustment of rolls, threading, first-piece inspection, welding, and general maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will utilize precision measurement instruments and perform basic shop math calculations to ensure the quality of products.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery.

+ Install and adjust rolls, thread up, perform first-piece inspection, and handle welding and general clean-up.

+ Utilize precision measurement instruments and tape measure.

+ Perform basic shop math calculations.

+ Set-up and operate wire machine with minimum supervision.

+ Change over equipment and ensure the quality of the product.

+ Make necessary changes in operating conditions to produce quality products.

+ Perform necessary tests and measurements to assure product meets required specifications.

+ Keep accurate product data and records as required.

+ Correct or adjust any machine malfunction immediately to ensure continuity of production and quality.

+ Report any major machine malfunction immediately to the Supervisor.

+ Continually inspect products while performing other duties.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work area.

+ Assist in other duties as directed.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience.

+ Ability to read measurements (tape measure/micrometers/calipers).

+ Machine operation experience (at least 6 months preferred).

+ Mechanically inclined.

+ Ability to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the shift.

+ Safety mindset with the ability to complete all job tasks safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Forklift operation experience.

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

This is a heavy manufacturing and labor-intensive position in an environment that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, as it is not temperature controlled. Employees must wear steel toes and safety glasses. Shifts are available in various patterns, including 8-hour and 12-hour shifts across different times of the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orrville, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70/hr.
