    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Associate Structures Mechanic to join our dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. This role involves performing critical tasks related to structural mechanics on aircraft, ensuring adherence to high safety and quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures.

    + Locate blind holes for the installation of new structural items.

    + Seal, paint, shim, and preserve structures in accordance with standard repair processes.

    + Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications for structural modification/repair.

    + Utilize tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair.

    + Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components.

    + Perform sheet metal and structural modification and repair.

    + Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.

    + Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits.

    + Ascend and descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads up to 35 pounds.

    + Ensure a safe working environment using Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems.

    + Collaborate with team members to meet cost and schedule targets.

    Essential Skills

    + 4+ years of experience with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.

    + Proficiency in reading schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.

    + 4+ years of experience using structures hand tools like drills, pancake adapters, and rivet guns.

    + Experience in heavy structures work, including locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures to aircraft.

    + Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance or Depot Level work.

    + Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.

    + Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and electric powered elevating equipment.

    + FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant license is preferred.

    + Proficiency in shop mathematics and practices.

    + Proficient in computer skills related to aircraft systems and basic office software.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a factory production environment, requiring physical capabilities such as sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, and using hand and power tools. The role involves working in elevated and confined spaces, lifting weights up to 35 pounds, and handling hazardous materials. You will be exposed to noise, sealants, solvents, and atmospheric conditions. The ability to work variable shifts, including first and second shifts, is required to meet business needs.

    This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $43.05 - $43.05/hr.
