Job Title: Production Operator
Job Description
The Production Operator II is responsible for manufacturing doors using advanced techniques with both Horizontal and Vertical Door and Jamb Machines, as well as Assemblers. This position involves operating pneumatic and power tools to ensure adherence to rigorous product quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of safety and operational protocols, troubleshooting machine issues, and optimizing process efficiency. The Production Operator II also demonstrates advanced technical and problem-solving skills, mentors less experienced team members, and actively participates in continuous improvement and process innovation initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Operate Horizontal and Vertical Door and Jamb Machine and Assembler, pneumatic and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble doors and frames.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve advanced or custom production issues.
+ Set up and calibrate machinery with precision, interpreting technical schematics and product specifications.
+ Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and minimize waste.
+ Assemble door components with expert craftsmanship verifying alignment, tolerances, and structural integrity.
+ Inspect finished products for defects or deviations according to specifications.
+ Provide guidance and technical mentorship to less experienced Production Operators.
+ Report quality issues to management and provide recommendations for process adjustments.
+ Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
+ Identify, assess, and report safety concerns or incidents to management.
+ Follow work order instructions and interpret complex work orders for door assembly.
+ Collaborate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to production improvements.
+ Perform additional duties as required and requested.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in production, construction, carpentry, and machine operation.
+ Experience with hand tools, tape measure, general labor, assembly, sanding, power tools, and bandsaw.
+ 1+ year of experience in tape measuring.
+ 1+ year of experience in using power tools, hand tools, framing, assembling, woodworking, machine operation, sanding, and nail gun.

Work Environment
Work in a carpentry shop environment that is non-climate-controlled, utilizing various production machines to customize door frames and interior/exterior doors. Adherence to safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
