Pay: $18–$28/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM (occasional extended days and Saturdays)

•️ About the Role

Join a respected general contractor specializing in $1M–$15M commercial construction projects, including remodels and new builds at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). You’ll work on pre-engineered metal buildings and perform a wide range of construction tasks—from demolition and earthwork to framing, welding, and finish work.

This is a great opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience who want consistent work and the chance to focus on their strengths. If you’re skilled in a particular area, we’ll aim to place you where you excel.

• Key Responsibilities

+ Erect metal posts and studs

+ Attach sheet metal using power tools

+ Insulate and drywall interior spaces

+ Perform demolition, earthwork, and concrete finishing

+ Prepare layouts and erect framework

+ Install ceilings, walls, and doors

+ Weld and signal equipment operators

+ Assist tradespeople and operate lifts

• Requirements

+ Minimum 6 months of construction experience

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools

+ Mechanical aptitude and carpentry skills

+ Valid Driver’s License

+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights of 20 ft+ Must bring basic hand tools: tool pouch, hammer, tape measure, speed square, utility knife, etc.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
